OK, So what's it all about?

 

I came up with the idea for 'Creative Hangouts' after our first national lockdown. 

 

As an artist I had lost my work, and like many others I was feeling pretty hopeless stuck at home. This got me thinking about all the little creative minds who now had limited access to art activities. 

 

I wanted to do something about it so I came up with a plan to reach 5 young artists to creatively inspire them and talk about art.

As my plan developed, it became important that I provided free art materials and activities for them to do. 

 

My idea made its way into a Creative Scotland application where it really evolved. I grew from a goal of reaching 5 young artists to 15.

I was over the moon when Creative Scotland informed me they would fully fund this project, my idea was becoming a reality!

 

I reconnected with some incredible children's charities and got to partner with the amazing staff at Toonspeak,

PEEK Project, Quarriers, and Spider Arts. 

 

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with every young artist on Creative Hangouts and I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity.
